RETURN & EXCHANGE POLICY

Every Kumawa garment is created with care, craft intelligence, and respect for India’s textile and artisanal traditions. Pieces available on www.kumawa.in may involve hand processes, limited-batch production, craft-led techniques, and slow fashion methods.

Slight differences in colour, weave, texture, print placement, embroidery, finishing, or handwork may naturally occur. These variations are part of the character of the product and are not treated as defects.

This policy explains how Kumawa handles exchange requests, return eligibility, and refund-related cases for orders placed on www.kumawa.in.

1. Exchange and Return Eligibility

Kumawa accepts return or exchange requests only in the following cases:

• The product received is defective or damaged
• The wrong product has been delivered
• A size exchange is requested, subject to availability

Kumawa does not accept returns or provide refunds for:

• Change of mind after purchase
• Colour differences caused by lighting, photography, or screen settings
• Natural characteristics of handcrafted, handwoven, hand-printed, or hand-finished textiles
• Customized, altered, personalized, or made-to-order pieces

This approach helps protect limited production, artisanal workmanship, and the values of slow fashion.

2. Request Window

You must inform Kumawa within 48 hours of receiving your order if you wish to raise an eligible return or exchange request.

Once the request is reviewed and approved, the product must be shipped back within 7 days in its original condition.

Requests made after the 48-hour window will not be accepted.

3. Product Condition

For any approved return or exchange, the product must be:

• Unused, unworn, and unwashed
• Returned in its original packaging
• Sent back with all tags, labels, and trims intact
• Free from perfume, stains, marks, damage, or signs of use
• Accompanied by the original invoice

All returned products will go through a quality inspection.

If the item does not meet the required condition, the request will be rejected. The product will be sent back to the customer and will not qualify for refund, exchange, store credit, or replacement.

4. How to Raise a Request

To initiate an eligible return or exchange request, please email Kumawa at:

Your email must include:

• Your order number
• Reason for the request
• Clear photos or videos showing the issue, wherever applicable

Kumawa will review your request and respond within 2–3 business days.

5. Return Shipping

For defective products or incorrect items delivered, Kumawa will arrange reverse pickup wherever service is available, at no additional cost to the customer.

For size exchanges, return shipping charges must be borne by the customer.

Reverse pickup may not be available for all pin codes or locations. In such cases, the customer may be asked to self-ship the product to the address provided by Kumawa.

6. Size Exchanges

Size exchanges are permitted only for the same product design in a different size and are subject to stock availability.

A size exchange cannot be used to request a different design, colour, style, or product.

If the required size is unavailable, Kumawa may issue store credit instead.

7. Refunds and Store Credit

Refunds are issued only in cases where a replacement or exchange is not possible, and only after the returned product passes Kumawa’s quality inspection.

Approved refund options may include:

• Store credit valid for six months
• Refund to the original payment method, which may take 7–10 working days after approval

Shipping charges, if applicable, are non-refundable.

Refund timelines may also depend on the customer’s bank, payment gateway, or payment service provider.

8. Damaged or Tampered Packages

If your package appears opened, tampered with, or visibly damaged at the time of delivery:

• Refuse delivery where possible
• If accepted, take clear photos or videos immediately
• Contact Kumawa as soon as possible with your order details and proof

Kumawa will review the issue and coordinate with the courier partner to help resolve the matter.

9. International Orders

Due to customs processes, cross-border logistics, and high shipping costs:

• International orders are not eligible for returns, exchanges, or refunds
• Defective or incorrect international orders will be reviewed individually on a case-by-case basis

Any customs duties, taxes, or international charges paid by the customer are non-refundable.
